Today in class we finished our notes on Congressional Leadership and worked in cooperative groups to identify the expressed powers of Congress and the denied powers of Congress.

Homework:
Study for Tuesday's vocabulary quiz.

Today in class we discussed Congressional Committees and started notes on Congressional Leadership.  We also completed questions 4, 5, an 6 on the Chapter 5 questions (paper in Thursday folder in the classroom).

Homework:
Read and annotate Article I.
Prepare notebook for first notebook check.
Study for Tuesday's legislative branch quiz (vocabulary)
Test on Wednesday.

Today in class we corrected the redistricting homework, watched a video about redistricting, took notes on the responsibilities of members of Congress, and identified the different types of congressional committees.

Homework: (2nd block) - Finish the committee assignment.

On Tuesday we started our study of the legislative branch.  If you were absent, you will want to get the notes from a friend. 

The homework is to complete the Reapportionment and Redistricting worksheet AND to read Chapter 5, Sections 1-4.  Also, begin preparing for the vocabulary quiz.

On THURSDAY - We worked in cooperative groups to discuss the states rights philosophy v. the nationalist philosophy.  We also took notes on the federalism and how it impacts policy-making/politics.  We also read a case study about the Clean Air Act.

On FRIDAY - We completed our study of federalism.  We discussed the Clean Air Act and identified pros and cons of federalism. 
Homework - Study for Monday's test.
