Today in class we continued our study of the Electoral College.  We discussed the potential problems/weaknesses of the Electoral College AND we took notes on the suggested plans for reforming the Electoral College.  Finally, we completed a cooperative learning assignment on the Electoral College (See Friday folder).

HW:  Read 9.1 and 9.2;  Executive Branch Vocabulary Quiz on Wednesday.

Today in class we:
1.  Discussed current events (flat taxes; the European debt crisis; Student Loan proposal;  GOP presidential election).
2.  Took notes on the Electoral College.  If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.
3.  Identified potential problems/weaknesses of the Electoral College.

REMEMBER:  PAPERS ARE DUE ON FRIDAY.

Today in class we started our study of the executive branch.  We took introductory notes on the executive and completed an assignment for Chapter 8 (See Wednesday folder).

Today we went to the library to work on the paper that is due on Friday.  We also reviewed for tomorrow's test over the Legislative Branch.

Today in class we finished our study of the legislative branch.  Specifically we:
1.  Discussed whether or not Congressional terms should be limited.
2.  Watched a video:  The US Congress and You.  (The video reviewed the process of How a Bill Becomes a Law, the role of Congressional staff, and the average day for a member of Congress.)
3.  Completed a review chart.

Reminders:
Monday we are going to the IMC to work on the paper.  Please be prepared to go to the library.
Tuesday is the Legislative Branch Test.
The paper is due on Friday, October 28th.

1.  Corrected the Chapter 7 questions from yesterday.
2.  Discussed the Chapter 5 homework.
3.  Read an article about term limits.
4.  Identified reasons for and against term limits.

Today was the Legislative Branch Vocabulary Quiz.  If you were absent, you need to find a time to make-up the quiz.  We also took notes on the Special Powers of the House, the Special Powers of the Senate, Legislative Oversight, and How a Bill Becomes a Law.

The homework is to finish the Chapter 7 questions.

Also -- Remember - Paper is due October 28th.
