Today in class we took notes on the special powers of the House of Representatives, the special powers of the Senate, Legislative Oversight, and How a Bill Becomes a Law.
Homework: Chapter 7 Questions are due TOMORROW. Test is TUESDAY! Today in class we completed our study of the expressed and denied powers of Congress. We also took notes on the non-legislative powers of Congress.
HW: Please bring 3 different colored pens, markers, highlighters, or colored pencils tomorrow. Tentative Test - Monday. Today in class we worked in cooperative groups to identify the expressed powers of Congress AND the powers denied to Congress.
Homework: Read Chapter 7, section 1. It is recommended that you also read Chapter 6, sections 1 and 2. Please bring 3 different colored pencils, markers, pens, or highlighters to class tomorrow. Tentative Test - Monday. Today in class we:
- Completed Questions 4, 5, 6, and 8 on the Chapter 5 Questions worksheet. - Read Article I of the Constitution. As you read, identify the powers of Congress and the powers denied to Congress. Today in class we:
- Completed the vocabulary quiz. - Corrected Chapter 5 Questions #2 and 3. - Finished the notes on Congressional Leadership. - Identified the types of committees in Congress. Wednesday, November 21st - NO SCHOOL (FOG) Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd - Thanksgiving Break Today in class we:
- Corrected the redistricting homework. - Took notes on the Jobs of a Member of Congress and the Leadership Positions in Congress. Homework: Complete Chapter 5 Questions #2 and 3 (Handout in Monday folder). Vocabulary Quiz tomorrow. Redistricting and Reapportionment homework due today!
Today in class we watched a video about redistricting. A copy of the questions is in the Friday folder. Today in class we started our study of the legislative branch. We took notes on the legislative branch. Be sure to get the notes from a friend.
We also completed a redistricting / reapportionment assignment. See the Wednesday folder. HOMEWORK: There will be a QUIZ over the legislative branch vocabulary terms on TUESDAY. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH - NO SCHOOL. If you were absent you missed the Executive Branch test. Please make arrangements to take the test.
Today in class we took notes on Presidential leadership and reviewed for tomorrow's test.
