Today in class we discussed the evolution of the three branches and took notes on the amendment process. The homework is to completed the evens on the 3.4 study guide.
Today we studied the Supreme Court decision of Marbury v. Madison. If you were absent, answer the questions on the back of Monday's reading assignment (and turn in for a grade). We also completed charts to compare the legislative and executive branches.
Test (Tentative) - Monday, March 3rd. Today in class we started our study of Chapter 3. We analyzed learning targets, studied the Preamble to the Constitution, and took notes on constitutional structure and principles.

Tuesday - No School (Snow Day) Wednesday Today in class we finished our study of Chapter 2. We discovered the reasons the Federalists were in favor of ratification of the Constitution, as well as reasons the Anti-Federalists were opposed to ratification. We also took notes on the compromise between the two. CHAPTER 2 TEST IS THURSDAY! If you were absent today, be sure to read Chapter 2, Section 4. Also get the notes on the Constitutional Convention from a friend (including completing the last page of the Articles of Confederation chart).
Create a Venn diagram that compares the New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan. Test is Thursday. Today in class we studied Shays' Rebellion. If you were absent, be sure to get the video notes from a friend.
In addition: Define Annapolis Convention and determine its significance. Today in class we finished our study of the Declaration of Independence and started our study of the Articles of Confederation. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.
Homework: Chapter 2 Questions due on Thursday (copies are in the Wednesday folder). Today in class we created a chart of influences on the content of the US Constitution and took notes on the Declaration of Independence. If you were absent, get the notes from a friend.
If you were absent you will also need to read the Declaration of Independence (textbook page 770) and complete the questions (in the Tuesday folder). If you were absent today, please read pages 38-44 AND get the notes from a friend.
