Today in class we completed the Chapter 5 Questions (#2-6) in both classes, completed our study of Article I, and took notes on the special powers of the House and Senate and legislative oversight.

Test is Wednesday. Today in class we:
- Went over the Chapter 4 Test. - Completed notes on House and Senate leadership. - Discussed the committees homework from last night. - Discussed Article I. - In 3/4 Block, completed Ch. 5 Questions #2 and #3. (finish for HW) - In 7/8 Block, completed Ch. 5 Questions #2-6. HW: Vocabulary Quiz tomorrow (20 points) Today in class we took notes on the jobs of members of Congress AND the leadership structure of the House and the Senate. In 7/8 block we also defined the different types of Congressional committees.
HW- Read Article I In 3/4 only -- define the committees Today in class we took introductory notes on the legislative branch, completed a reapportionment assignment and watched a video clip about redistricting.
HW: Study for Thursday's vocabulary quiz. Today in class we completed the Chapter 4 Test.
We also reviewed learning targets for the legislative branch unit AND started to learn the vocabulary terms for the unit. HW: Vocabulary Quiz on Thursday. Today in class we finished our study of federalism. We discussed the consequences of federalism on policy-making, using the Clean Air Act as an example. We also discussed the pros and cons of federalism and reviewed the learning targets for Chapter 4.
HW: Study for Friday's test. Today in class we took notes on states rights v. nationalists and completed a cooperative learning assignment on the topic. We also took notes on the relationship between federalism and policy-making/politics.
Homework: Study for Friday's Test. Today in class we continued with our study of federalism.
