SKINNY:  If you were absent, you missed a video clip about judicial restraint and judicial activism.  You also need to read your assigned reading (see Friday folder).  Test will be Tuesday.

BLOCK:  If you were absent you missed the Part II Legislative Branch Test.  Please make arrangements to make up the test.  You also need to read Chapter 8, Section 1 AND complete the accompanying assignment (in Friday folder).

SKINNY:  Today in class we finished the assignment from yesterday.  If you were absent, complete the assignment and turn in for a grade.  Test is Tuesday.

BLOCK:  If you were absent:
1.  Complete the following in class writing:  

Answer using complete sentences.
Should we limit Congressional terms?  Why or why not?
  • Include at least THREE reasons to support your answer. 

2.  Study for tomorrow's test.
3.  7/8 Block - Get the notes from a friend.

SKINNY:  Today in class we completed the notes for the Supreme Court AND read an article "Does the Supreme Court Abuse Its Power?"  If you were absent, get the notes from a friend, read the article, and answer the questions that are in the Wednesday folder.  The test will be early next week. 

BLOCK:  Today in class we completed Question #6 on the Chapter 7 questions, took notes (be sure to get these from a friend), read an article "Should We Limit Congressional Terms" and identified reasons for and against term limits.  The test will be on Friday.

SKINNY:  Today in class we took notes on the Supreme Court.  Be sure to get the notes from a friend. 

BLOCK:  Today in class we analyzed the last test.  We also corrected yesterday's assignment and took notes on how lobbyists influence members of Congress and how members of Congress help their constituents. 
The test will be either Thursday or Friday.

SKINNY:
Today in class we created a flow chart of Supreme Court procedures.  If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.  You should also read page 332-334.

BLOCK:
Today in class we reviewed How a Bill Becomes a Law.  If you were absent answer Question #7 on your Chapter 5 Questions (3/4 Block - Binder page 139;  7/8 Block - Binder page 186).  You also need to read "Reelection to Congress" on page 130 and "Influencing Congress" on pages 194-198. Finally, get the Chapter 7 packet from the Monday folder.  Answer questions 1, 2, and 5.

BLOCK:  Today in class we analyzed Article I.  If you were absent, complete the Article I chart (which is in the Monday folder).  The vocabulary test is on Wednesday.  The legislative branch (part I) test is on Thursday.
