Today in class we reviewed for Monday's test (and went to the pep assembly!). :)
Chapter 4 Test is Monday. Today in class we read and discussed the case study "The Politics of Federalism". Copies are in the Thursday folder. We also identified the pros and cons of federalism.
The test is on Monday. Today in class we worked in cooperative groups to study the debate between the states rights position and the nationalist position. We also took notes on how federalism impacts policymaking and politics. Be sure to get the notes from a friend.
The test is Monday (over Chapter 4). Today in class we
1. Discussed the significance of McCulloch v. Maryland. 2. Took notes on Interstate Relations, the Admission of New States, and States' Rights v. Nationalist debate. 3. The homework is to read Chapter 4, Sections 3 and 4. Tentative Test - Monday, March 1st. Today in class we continued our study of federalism. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend (notebook pages 44-48). The homework is to read Chapter 4, Sections 1 and 2.
Today in class we took the Chapter 3 Quiz. We also watched a video about federalism. You will need to get the notes on the video from a friend.

1. Reviewed the six principles of the Constitution 2. Finished the notes on the Amendment Process. 3. Answered four questions on the Amendment Process -- be sure to get the questions from the Wednesday folder in the classroom. 4. Identified the purposes of the 27 Amendments. Homework: Memorize the Preamble (for Extra Credit) by Friday. Quiz on Friday. Today in class we:
1. Created a chart for the three branches with the following information: Branch, function of branch, powers of branch, characteristics at the time of the founding, characteristics today, conflicts. Chapter 3, Section 2 will help you create the chart. 2. Took notes on the Amendment Process. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend. No homework. Today in class we:
1. Completed the Constitution Scavenger Hunt. You will need to complete this if you were absent. You can get a copy from the Monday folder in the classroom. 2. Took notes on the Six Principles of the Constitution. Be sure to get the notes from a friend. 3. Read "Marbury v. Madison" and answered the questions. A copy is in the Monday folder in the classroom. 4. The homework is: Answer the following questions: A) What principles of the Constitution help to limit the power of the government? HOW does each limit the power of government? Include ALL that apply! B) How would the governent be affected if the Supreme Court did not have the power of judicial review? EX CREDIT -- Memorize the preamble and recite it to me by Friday. |
