Today in class we finished the curriculum. We finished our notes on the Rights of the Accused and reviewed the Civil Rights Movement/Civil Rights Legislation. Last Unit Test is TOMORROW. Extra Credit letter is also due tomorrow. Today in class we:
1. Discussed issues related to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press. 2. Took notes on Freedom of Assembly, Freedom of Petition, and the Rights of the Accused. HW: 4th Block - Chapter 14 Worksheet due tomorrow. BOTH CLASSES: Test on Friday. EC due Friday (letter) or Monday (voter registration) Exam on Tuesday (4th block) and Wednesday (2nd block) Today in class we:
1. Turned in required projects. 2. Continued our notebook checks. 3. Completed an assignment for Freedom of Relgion (Lemon v. Kurtzman AND Restrictions on Free Exercise) 4. Took notes on Freedom of Speech and Press. 5. Completed an assignment (Restrictions on speech) Homework: Test is on FRIDAY. Extra Credit is due FRIDAY (letter) or MONDAY (registration) Exam is TUESDAY (4th block) or WEDNESDAY (2nd block) Today in class we:
1. Discussed the citizenship test (from Friday). 2. Took notes on Freedom of Religion 3. Discussed Establishment Clause issues/court cases HW: PROJECTS ARE DUE TOMORROW!!!! Test is Friday or Monday. Extra Credit Letter is due Friday. Extra Credit Voter Registration is due on Monday. Notebook C Exams are the 24th and 25th. On Thursday we started our study of citizenship, including the rights and responsibilities of citizens. If you missed class you need to (1) Define the vocab terms for this unit; (2) Get the notes from a friend.
On Friday we took the U.S. Citizenship Test and watched a video about rights and responsibilities. Homework: Notebook Checks will continue next week. Projects are due on Tuesday. Test is Friday (or Monday in 2nd Block) Exams are scheduled for May 24th and 25th. 1. Group Presentations on significant Supreme Court decisions.
2. Review for Wednesday's test. 3. Time to work on projects in the library. Today in class we discussed Supreme Court procedures. We also finished our notes on the judicial branch AND read and discussed an article "Does the Supreme Court Abuse It's Power?".
