Today in class we took notes on interstate relations and admission of new states. We also completed an individual assignment on the the states rights philosophy v. the nationalist philosophy.

On Friday we reviewed the learning targets for Chapter 4 and completed the federalism chart for Chapter 4, Section 1. There is no homework. In SECOND BLOCK on Monday, March 11th: On Monday we analyzed the results for the Chapter 3 test, reviewed delegated, reserved and concurrent powers, watched a video (if you were absent, get the notes from a friend), and took notes on the Supremacy Clause. The homework is to read/annotate the McCulloch v Maryland case study reading. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In FOURTH BLOCK on Friday, March 8th: On Friday we reviewed the learning targets for Chapter 4 and completed the federalism chart for Chapter 4, Section 1. We also completed a Venn Diagram for delegated, reserved, and concurrent powers and watched a video about federalism. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend AND be sure to read pages 95-102. In FOURTH BLOCK on Monday, March 11th: On Monday we analyzed the results of the Chapter 3 test, discussed the 4.1 chart (from Friday), reviewed delegated, reserved and concurrent powers, and took notes on the Supremacy Clause. The homework is to read/annotate the McCulloch v. Maryland case study reading. On Monday we finished our study of Chapter 3 (The Constitution). If you were absent, you will need to answer the following short answer question (using complete sentences): Define democracy. Identify at least three examples of how the Constitution is more democratic today then when it was first written.
Also, be sure to get the notes from a friend. HW: Study for Thursday's test. Tuesday, March 3rd and Wednesday, March 4th - No class due to ACT/MME Testing. On Friday we discussed the formal amendment process and studied the 27 formal amendments to the Constitution.
