Today in class we created a method of approach for the comparative analysis of the AP Six (using the Kesselman themes described in Chapter 1). We also discussed the homework (characteristics of democracy) AND took notes on Ch. 5/Authoritarianism.

Today in class we: 1. Received Study Guides for Comparative Unit II. 2. Read Kesselman pages 13-24. 3. Worked in groups to identify the "essential questions" for each comparative theme. Homework: 1. Complete the three notebook pages for Chapter 5 using pages 119-137. 2. Finish reading Chapter 5 for Wednesday. 3. Ch. 6 note packet (page 1 - "rule of law") due Thursday. 4. CE due Friday. Topic must be Iran or UK. 5. Paper due Monday. Today in class we finished the Unit I Test (specifically we completed the last multiple choice question AND the extra credit question).

Today in class we finished our study of federalism. If you were absent, there is a set of cooperative learning questions in the Friday folder. We used this list of questions as the basis of our discussion. We also discussed how the Clean Air Act is a good example of the consequences of federalism and devolution. If you were absent, you might ask a friend if they took notes during discussion.
We also discussed how the Electoral College works. We will continue this discussion on Monday. Reminders:
