- Completed the Constitution Quiz. - Took notes on the Constitutional Convention AND finished the Articles of Confederation weaknesses chart - Received the Federalist/Anti-Federalists presentation project. Homework: Read Federalist 10 and 51 by Tuesday. Presentations on Thursday and Friday. 1 CE due on Friday (you can turn in a second for extra credit) Today in class we:
- Discussed the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. - Defined Annapolis Convention and Shays's Rebellion - Watched a video about Shays's Rebellion HW: - Read 22-28 by Monday. - Constitution Quiz on Monday. - Read Federalist 10 and Federalist 51 (both in the appendix of your book) by Tuesday - One CE due on 10/18. - Extra Credit CE due on 10/18 Today in class we watched two video clips about the Declaration of Independence and then started our study of the Articles of Confederation. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend. Also - you will find a copy of the Articles of Confederation in the Thursday folder.
Homework: CE due on October 18th. You may do a second for extra credit. Read 22-28 by Monday. Constitution Quiz on Monday. Today in class we completed the Constitutional Rights and Principles discussion, and took notes on the Ideas of John Locke, the Political Steps to Revolution, and the Declaration of Independence.
We also worked in groups to study the Declaration of Independence. Homework: 1 CE due on 10/18; You may turn in a second for extra credit. Constitution Quiz on Monday. Today in class we:
- Discussed pluralism and hyperpluralism - Discussed influences on the content of the US Constitution - Examined excerpts of English documents to identify English concepts found in the US Constitution. HW: Quiz on the Structure of the Constitution on Monday. 1 CE due on 10.18; 1 additional CE can be completed for Extra Credit. Today in class we discussed the multiple choice section and the free response section of the Comparative Unit I test.
We also reviewed the goals we created at the beginning of the school year. We also discussed majoritarianism and elitism. HW: 1 CE due on 10/18. A second can be completed for Extra Credit. Today in class we discussed iron triangles, issue networks, and took the political preference quiz. We also brainstormed reasons the colonists came to America, the places from which they came, and the causes of the American Revolution.
There is no homework. Have a great homecoming weekend! :) Today in class we:
1. Studied the Marbury v. Madison case study. 2. Took notes on causes of informal changes to the Constitution AND the public policy making process. 3. Defined iron triangle and issue network. 4. Completed the Wilson, Chapter 1 Cooperative Learning Assignment. HW: Read 17-22 and the Declaration of Independence. Today in class we:
- Reviewed the structure of the Constitution. - Took notes on the Six Principles of the Constitution. - Took notes on the Amendment Process. - Discussed the Amendment Process.
