1. Watched the first few minutes of the March 4th episode of CNN Student News. In this episode there is a short segment regarding family planning policies in Iran. To watch the episode, go to http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/03/studentnews/sn-curriculum-tue/index.html.
2. Reviewed the differences between primaries and caucuses.
3. Watched video clips from the 2004 Iowa Caucus. You can view the clips at C-SPAN.org. The entire program is 2.5 hours. It is NOT necessary for you to view the entire program. I would recommend that you watch the first few minutes, then fast forward to approximately the 40 minute mark. As you watch, look for what it takes for a candidate to be "viable", as well as what caucus attendees will do to help their candidate become viable.
4. Discussed the advantages and disadvantages of primaries and caucuses. I recommend that you make a list of advantages and disadvantages in your notes. It would be a good idea for you to compare your list with a friend.
5. Discussed the problems/criticisms of the presidential nomination process. We will continue this discussion on Friday.
