Reminder: Last two pages of Russia note packet due after spring break. Today in class we continued our study of Russia. We took notes AND completed the following short writing assignment:
A) Review your notes on the history of Russia AND authoritarian systems. Identify the characteristics of authoritarianism which are evident from the 9th century CE to Stalin's death. Be specific. B) Review your notes for Chapter 8. According to O'Neil, where is democracy most likely to succeed? Based on your knowledge of the history of Russia, is democracy likely to succeed in Russia? USE HISTORICAL FACTS to support your answer. Today in class we finished our notes for Chapter 9 and started our study of Russia.
If you were absent, please answer Chapter 9, Question #1. Homework/Reminders: PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY TODAY! Read Russia case study pages 8-16. Russia vocabulary quiz on Thursday. Choose a topic for the interest group project. Study for Comparative Concept Quiz (after Spring Break). Today in class we discussed Chapter 8 and started our notes for Chapter 9.
HW: Catch up on your reading. You should have already read all of Chapter 8. You should read Chapter 9 by Monday. You also need to read pages 1-7 of the Russia Case Study ASAP -- by Monday if possible, but absolutely by Tuesday. Choose a topic for your interest group project. Study the Russia vocabulary terms. Quiz on Thursday. Study for the Comparative Concepts Quiz. On Thursday we finished our study of Chapter 8. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.
Homework: Answer Chapter 8 Questions #1 and 2. Finish reading Chapter 8 and read Chapter 9 for next week. EC due tomorrow. Interest Group Project due on 4/15. Study for your concept quiz. Remember to take the online review session survey before Monday. Today in class we received project guidelines for the Interest Group Project (due 4.15). We also completed an in-class writing and continued with our notes on Chapter 8.
Homework: Complete the last four pages of the Chapter 8 packet - DUE THURSDAY. Finish reading Chapter 8; Start reading Chapter 9. Extra Credit cartoons due on 3/22. Interest Group Project - Due April 15th. On Tuesday we reviewed the multiple choice section of the test. We also went over last night's homework assignment.
Homework: Read Chapter 8 by Friday. (Then start Chapter 9.) Extra Credit due on 3/22. Begin studying for the Comparative Concepts Quiz. On THURSDAY - We discussed the reasons for the decline of political party power. We also finished our study of interest groups and PACs. Finally we discussed the similarities and differences between interest groups and political parties.
On FRIDAY - We completed the multiple choice section of the Beliefs and Behaviors test. On MONDAY - We completed the free response section of the Beliefs and Behaviors test. The homework is to complete the section 8 packet. You may also complete the free response question for Extra Credit. Reminders: Extra Credit due on 3/22. Today in class we took notes on political parties, brainstormed reasons for party decline, and discussed money in elections/campaign finance.
