Wednesday - Institutions Test (3 FR and Matching) Today in class we finished our study of the judicial branch/institutions of government.
The test is TOMORROW and WEDNESDAY. No cartoon analysis is due this week. Read Chapter 5 by Thursday. Today in class we:
1. Answered questions about the "Does the Supreme Court Abuse It's Power" Reading. If you were absent, get a copy of the questions from the Thursday folder, answer, and submit for a grade. 2. Watched approximately 20 minutes of "Original Intent and a Living Constitution". Start at minute 6 and watch for about 20 minutes. The clip will help you better understand Judicial Activism and Judicial Restraint. 3. Completed a cooperative learning assignment and discussion about Judicial Activism and Restraint. If you were absent, get the questions from the Thursday folder, answer, and submit for a grade. Reminders: 1. Cartoon is due tomorrow. 2. Test is Tuesday and Wednesday. Today in class we reviewed judicial structure and Supreme Court procedures (see Wednesday folder). We also finished the note-packet. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.
The homework is: 1. Read the Judicial Activism and Restraint articles. 2. Find out the meanings of: The Establishment Clause, the 4th Amendment, the 6th Amendment, and the Knock and Announce Rule. 3. Complete Cartoon Analysis #2 by Friday. 4. Begin preparing for next week's test. Also - the documentary on Moodle is recommended! Today in class we completed the Executive Branch Quiz. If you were absent, please make arrangements to make-up the quiz.
We also watched the following video clip to review the structure of the federal court system: Overview of the Federal Courts. Finally, we looked at the Lower Federal Court chart (see Tuesday folder) AND continued with notes on the U.S. Supreme Court. Reminders:
Today in class we finished our study of the executive branch/federal bureaucracy AND started introductory notes on the judicial branch. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.

Use complete sentences. Be prepared to turn in at the beginning of the block on Monday. 2. Executive Branch Quiz is Tuesday. 3. Cartoon Analysis is due Friday, 2/24. 4.
