1.  Discussed the limits on the power of the president.
2.  Discussed ways that presidents get support for their policy ideas.
3.  Took notes on executive privilege, impoundment of funds, and presidential change.
4.  Took notes on the Federal Bureaucracy.

Homework:  Finish reading Chapter 13 and start reading Chapter 14.  Test after MME week!

1.  Took a quiz!
2.  Took notes on the EOP, the Cabinet, and Presidential succession.
3.  Be sure to define the responsibilities of the following:  National Security Council, Council of Economic Advisors, Office of Management and Budget.

HW:  Make a list of limits on the President.
Political Cartoon Analysis due tomorrow.
Read Chapter 13 for Monday.

Today in class we discussed WHO structure, including the advantages and disadvantages of various organizational structures.  We also watched a video "The Real West Wing".

The homework is to read Chapter 12.  You should also start reading Chapter 13.
Remember that your first political cartoon analysis is due on Friday.

2.  Took notes on the responsibilities of the president.
3.  Discussed the responsibilities of the president.
4.  Took notes on the expansion of presidential power.

HW:  Finish reading Chapter 12.  Begin reading Chapter 13. 
First political cartoon is due on Friday.

Today in class we studied the Electoral College.  Be sure to get the notes from a friend.

There is no new homework, but this weekend would be a GREAT time to catch up on your reading.  You should have read ALL of Chapter 11 by now.  The current assignment is to read Chapter 12.  If you would like to read ahead, Chapters 13 and 14 also go with this unit.

Finally, remember that your first political cartoon is due on February 24th.

Today in class we finished our discussion (and our study) of the legislative branch.  We also started our study of the executive branch.

Homework:
1.  PAPER IS DUE TO MOODLE BY 11:55PM.
2.  Start reading Chapter 12.
3.  First cartoon is due 2/24.

2.  Discussed the advantages and disadvantages of CONGRESSIONAL incumbency.
3.  Finished the notes on incumbency.
4.  Discusssed term limits.

1.  Complete either question 1, 6, or 7 on the Legislative Branch Questions.
2.  Paper due on THURSDAY!
3.  Start reading Chapter 12

Today in class we continued our notes on the legislative branch, discussed the three views of represenation (representational, attitudinal, and organizational), and identified advantages and disadvantages of the high incumbency rate in Congress.
