2.  Received an extra credit option to accompany the last test.
3.  Corrected the ch. 8 packet (homework) and took notes on communism.

The homework is to finish reading Ch. 8 and start reading the Russia case study.
Extra Credit is due 2/2.
Political Cartoon Project (one) is due on 2/4.

1.  Discussed the State of the Union address.
2.  Talked about our last comparative unit -- received study guides, Russia reading, and Russia glossary.
3.  Recieved political cartoon assignment.
4.  HW:  A)  Read Ch. 8 by the end of the week, and then begin reading Russia;  B) Complete "Political Economy" section of the economy.  C)  First political cartoon is due on Friday, February 4th

2.  Debated several Supreme Court issues.

1.  Think about the following:
A)  Is the Supreme Court the least dangerous branch?
B)  What are the ways that the Supeme Court can be limited?

1.  Discussed last night's State of the State address.
2.  Discussed judicial activism and judicial restraint. 
3.  Notes:  Historical Eras of the Court and Lower Federal Courts.

The HW is to identify at least one STRENGTH and one WEAKNESS of BOTH judicial activism and judicial restraing.

Test is Monday and Tuesday.
