Chapter 16 vocabulary quiz on TUESDAY. Today in class we:
- Discussed reasons that federalism is good for democracy. - Discussed how federalism can slow down policy-making. - Discussed the pros and cons of federalism. - Reviewed the learning targets. Homework: Study for tomorrow's test. Today in class we took notes on the states rights v. nationalists point of view and completed a cooperative learning activity on it.
We also took notes on federalism and policy making. The homework is to read the Clean Air Act case study AND to study for Thursday's test. Today in class we watched parts of the Michigan Gubernatorial Debate.
In 1/2 block we also took notes on states rights/nationalists. In 7/8 block we reviewed the video questions from Friday. Today in class we watched a video about Federalism. If you were absent, get the notes from a friend.
The Ch. 4 test will be next week (Tuesday or Wednesday). Today in class we analyzed the Ch. 3 test and took notes on the Admission of New States.
There is no homework. Chapter 4 test is next week. Today in class we discussed McCulloch v. Maryland, and took notes on McCulloch and national supremacy.
We also read pages 98-102 and identified the obligations of the national government and the obligations of the states. Finally we took notes on interstate relations. If you were absent, be sure to get all the notes from a friend. Today in class we started our study of Chapter 4. Specifically we analyzed learning targets and took notes on powers (delegated, reserved, denied, concurrent). We also read a case study about McCulloch v. Maryland.

Monday Chapter 3 Test Today in class we reviewed learning targets 1-11, took notes on the Amendment Process, answered questions about the Amendment Process (see below), and identified the content of the 27 amendments.
Homework: Finish evens of Chapter 3, Section 4 Packet. Test is Monday. |
