Today in class we discussed the compromise legislation that ended the government shut-down. We also took notes on Chapter 4, Section 1. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes from a friend.
HW: Read Chapter 4, Sections 3 and 4. Today in class we completed the Chapter 3 Test.
The homework is to read Chapter 4, Section 1. In 7/8 block we also started our study of Chapter 4. Today in class we finished our study of Chapter 3. We took notes on the informal changes to the Constitution and reviewed the learning targets.
The Chapter 3 Test is tomorrow. The Preamble/Budget essay was due today.
Today in class we discussed the 27th amendments AND completed the following short writing assignment: How is the Constitution more democratic today than it was at the time of the Founding? Include a minimum of THREE examples. Today in class we:
- Discussed the charts we created yesterday. - Took notes on the Amendment process AND discussed the amendment process. If you were absent, be sure to get the notes (including discussion notes) from a friend. - Identified 1/2 of the 27 amendments. Homework: ESSAYS ARE DUE ON MONDAY!!!! Today in class we finished our study of Marbury v. Madison AND studied the three branches to see how they have evolved since the time of the founding.
Homework: Essay is due on Monday OR you may turn it in tomorrow for extra credit. Today in class we:
- Took notes on the Principles of the Constitution. - Discussed Learning Target #97. - Read the Marbury v. Madison case study. - Worked in cooperative groups to discuss the Marbury v. Madison case study. HW: Essay due on Monday. Time to complete essay (Are we Slicing the Pie Correctly?).
Essay is due on Monday (or on Friday for 3 extra credit points). Today in class we:
- Analyzed the Chapter 2 Test. - Reviewed the goals we created at the beginning of the school year. - Debated the DBQ Mini-Q Question. No homework. In Block 3/4 - Today in class we discussed the DBQ documents and completed the following short writing: Short Writing: Take a stand. What are the top three pieces of evidence that support your thesis? What changes need to be made to the budget in order to better meet the goals of the Preamble?
Block 7/8 didn't meet due to the Senior Class picture and the Homecoming Assembly. There is no homework. Happy Homecoming! |
